Did you see the Channel 6 news last night or this morning? If so, you may have caught a glimpse of a hot looking dude in uniform saving lives. Okay, so there were a few people in uniform. But really, I had on shades. That automatically makes me the hottest. I can't get a screen capture of the part of the video that shows me best, but you can see the video here and try to spot me.
Some stills they had available online:
The Scene:
The back of my head as I get ready to climb the ladder. (Also pictured is my partner, Dan McCracken. Blah, blah, blah.):
My co-worker, Mike Porter, hogging the spotlight:
A wider angle:
Finally on the ground and getting ready to go:
Oh, and the kid who fell was fine. Blah, blah, blah. I was on the news.

"Rescuers pulling the boy up out of the quarry temporarily lost their grip on him just moments after this picture." - from 6abc.com
hmm. did you ever see that simpsons where homer fell in the ravine, and then they had to rescue him, and they kept dropping him back in the ravine - not that i'm saying that's what happened here.
very heroic.
I do love my man in his uniform. Santo.
Yeah, I saw that one Ashlie. WPVI is a fountain of misinformation in this situation, though. He was being lowered not lifted, and what actually happened was that piece of rock where the guy tending the basket stepped broke loose as he went out over the edge. Not to mention the fact that they called a medic a firefighter and a firefighter a medic. But that's probably only bothersome to a paramedic. :)
haha, oh man. my old art teacher and I were talking about that today, and she was giving us an anecdote about how the kid you saved is failing her class miserably. People were apparently asking her if she did anything to the kid.
Anyhow, nice job. You modeled that paramedic suit like Michaelangelo's David.
"Only Action News was there as rescue teams risked their own lives to save a boy who lay severely injured inside a quarry in Delaware County."
Only Action News. And the rescue teams. And the boy. And his family. And the wise men travelling from afar bearing gifts. And some camels.
Was it really raining, or was she holding that umbrella to block out the signs of the competition's news van in the background?
I'm guessing it was raining. None of the other networks had video, so none of them even mentioned the sordid affair.
You're guessing? Weren't you there?
In front of the hospital at 6am on Monday morning? No, no I wasn't.
