United or Untied?

Does anyone else find it questionable that they released the movie United 93 on DVD the Tuesday just prior to the 5 year anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks?

Isnt that the point?
I guess the people who wouldn't mind watching it, or who would appreciate the story aren't going to be offended that it ties in with the event that it is based on.

I would be more suspicious of a more fictional, popcorn type movie about a plane crash on that date. This one seems specifically to want to process the real event. Seems like a perfectly natural time to want to remember the actions of the people on that plane.

Yea... I think it totally depends on how you see the movie and the people behind it. "United 93" had the backing of most families. The producers gave $$ to the memorial to be built. In this sense, I think it's good that they released it at this time. Personally, I *enjoyed* the movie... meaning I thought it was a good representation of what could have happened on that flight. And it preserves the memory of the people on board.

On the other hand, you could take the purely cynical view that the only reason they released it was to make more money and that they don't give a hoot about the people involved..which, IMO, is just silly.
